Who is not obsessed with the ambition of becoming a police officer?

However, as with any other employment option the enrollment procedures of the police are intricate and complex. With proper guidance and the knowledge of various police tests you can excel in any of the selection procedures.

The initial step towards that big leap is the Application process where you can get the first test and this could considered as the screening test. Passing this is very important as the officials will be interested to screen out a lot of applicants to reduce rush.

The next major test is the assessment test where you will be tested for your god given gifts like common sense and intelligence. Many candidates try to excel in these tests and in turn forget to project their true self and thus get screened out.

Many of the developed countries like US and UK has introduced a numerical test which could be attributed to an advanced form of intelligence test. Here you will be required to answer about 25 questions in a limited period of time. These questions could involve arranging or matching figures, finding patterns in numbers etc.

Once you have completed all these tests you will go for the oral tests, where you will be interviewed by a senior police official. Here he will be having the results of the previous tests and he will asses you for certain qualities like integrity, loyalty and discipline. Therefore it is important for you to have good communication skills to project your good qualities and also for that fine impression.

It is also important for a police officer to have good physical and medical fitness. In addition to these police tests you will also have physical efficiency test where the standards will be varying at different selection centers. The regular tests will include a standard 2 km run, push ups and shuttle runs. This will vary if you have applied for special branches of the police.

The last test will be the medical fitness test. In this test there will be a thorough check like blood, urine and cardiac test. There will also be tests for obesity and if you are found to obese you will be asked to come for a retest after a period of one month. The duration of most of the police tests will last to about 3-4 days and the results will be announced on the last day. With thorough preparation and a determined mind it won't be much of a hurdle!
